1. Service Description
YT Scholar is a Chrome browser extension that provides learning tools for YouTube, including distraction control, note-taking, AI-generated study materials, course management, and data export features.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By installing and using YT Scholar, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension.
3. Account Responsibilities
- Core features work without an account. An account is required for AI features, cloud sync, and exports.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use YT Scholar.
4. Subscription & Billing
- The Free plan includes a limited number of AI credits per month at no cost. Notion and Google Docs exports are available on paid plans; Markdown export is free.
- Pro and Scholar plans are available on monthly or annual billing. Prices are displayed at time of purchase.
- Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms. Card details are entered with and processed entirely by Paddle.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
- After cancellation, you revert to the Free plan. All local data is preserved.
- AI credits reset monthly and do not roll over.
- Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support within 14 days of purchase. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full details.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use YT Scholar for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
- Abuse the AI feature by sending malicious or excessive requests
- Share your account or subscription with others
- Interfere with the extension's infrastructure or services
6. Intellectual Property
YT Scholar and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by YT Scholar and protected by intellectual property laws. Your notes, bookmarks, and other user-generated content remain yours.
7. Limitation of Liability
YT Scholar is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and should be verified independently.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the extension or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation and, failing that, resolved in the courts of the Republic of Serbia.
